The Icicle Creek Saga continues...

Here is an interesting read from Crosscut, an online news service. The Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery is being taken to court for degrading natural habitat and dewatering the natural channel of Icicle Creek. Basically in direct violation of the Endangered Species Act, among other various laws.

Here's a link to the article.

How sad this all is. As a sportsman I am all about conservation. The Salmon run is important, but if the natural habitate of other fish is put in jeopardy are we doing the right thing? I come each year to fly fish Icicle creek above the hatchery. It is sad to see such a beautiful place void of fish for the most part. Hopefully the courts will assist in changing this.
